About Me

Hi!

Let’s go travel 🙂

Welcome to BackpackGirls – real stories from women exploring the world on their own terms.

We started this blog to celebrate honest travel experiences from a woman’s perspective. We share it all: the fears and triumphs of solo adventures, the joy of spontaneous detours, the awkward moments that become great stories, and the incredible freedom that comes from planning your own journey.

Travel is something innate – our way of satisfying that continuous search for the different, the new. It’s through travel that we get to live other lives: those from the novels we read, the films we love, the stories we’ve heard since childhood.

Join us as we share our travel diaries, adventures, and practical tips – one story at a time.

Anna Laura

Ciao! I'm Anna Laura, founder of BackpackGirls. Why a travel blog? I'd rather ask – why not write one! The idea came from wanting to share experiences and tips with fellow DIY travelers. My favorite type of vacation is the self-made kind – backpack on, creating my own adventure rather than following standard agency packages. Travel is my way of living other lives – those from the novels I read, the films I love, the stories I've heard since childhood. And yes, I'm that person who gets ridiculously excited about the planning phase! Through BackpackGirls, I share travel diaries, adventures, and real experiences so others can immerse themselves in the stories and find practical tips for their own journeys.

Fernanda

Hi travelers! I'm Fernanda, co-founder of BackpackGirls. My travel philosophy is simple: say yes to adventure, whether that's a solo sunrise hike, a chaotic road trip with friends, or a romantic escape. Each journey teaches me something different about the world and myself. There's no one "right" way to explore the world! At BackpackGirls, I share the full spectrum of travel experiences: the empowering moments of independence, the hilarious disasters that make the best stories, the unexpected connections, and yes, even the times when things don't go as planned.
